::Tbilisi’s main tourist thoroughfares like Rustaveli are these days overrun with either unoriginal mediocre chains or unoriginal mediocre cliched “traditional” places. Fortunately, many spectacular joints can be found within a block into the backstreets, of which Sarcho is a shining example. Just as a grab-and-go pastry shop, or stop-by store for large variety of natural wines, spirits, honeys, and other products, Sarcho would rank as one of the best value-for-price locations in the city - beyond this, the excellent sit-down food (including the most sumptuous Acharian khachapuri I have eaten away from the coast), the vintage Soviet-style soda fountain, various ethnographic artifacts to contemplate while you wait, and all round Pirosmani vibe make the Shop-Museum a must visit for any connoisseur of Tbilisi cuisine.
