A very regrettable experience. This company took my money and didn't provide a tour. Claimed I didn't show up when I was waiting at my hotel. I would not recommend.

We have just returned from Tbilisi in Georgia, which we absolutely loved, but the best part of our visit by far was the one day wine tour in the Kakheti Region that we took with Bidzina Peradze of Traffic Travel LLC. Bidzina arrived right on time at our hotel to collect us in a very comfortable people-mover which had lots of room to hold my husband's knee walker comfortably. He had recently had surgery on his ankle and needed a fair bit of assistance to move around and Bidzina was extremely thoughtful in this regard. Our first stop was at the bread-makers where we were shown the traditional method of baking bread and were then able to sample the bread and local cheeses - delicious. We were then on our way to visit a wine-maker in the region. The estate, Okro's, was owned by Johnny who created wines in a totally organic manner using grapes that they had spent much time and effort resurrecting. It had been feared that they had all been totally destroyed throughout the troubles, but it was discovered that many farmers had kept roots of the old vines and they were able to locate over 550 different varieties. It was fascinating to see how the wines were created. Johnny was obviously incredibly passionate and determined to create the best wines he possibly could as he showed us around the temperature-controlled cave. We were then invited to head upstairs to a beautiful terrace area overlooking the surrounding magnificent hills where we were able to sample their wines under the knowledgeable guidance of Jane, Johnny's sister, who let us taste the rose that she herself had created. The tasting ended with a glass of the home-made Chacha, which is not to be missed. We were then on our way, heading for lunch, and after having tasted such delightful wines, we were more than ready for some delicious lunch and the restaurant we stopped at after about a 30 minute drive, more than lived up to our expectations. At the entrance to the restaurant, the owners had created a mini-museum of local farm machinery, kitchen tools, wine-making equipment and a lot of other fascinating bits and pieces. After a good look around, we headed into the restaurant proper, which was designed as a long cave-like area and proceeded to eat our way through all of the Georgian specialities, served in a small-plate manner so we could just help ourselves. It was wonderful also to have Bidzina dine with us and explain to us exactly what it was we were eating and the history of the food. We couldn't believe how many dishes were brought to the table and found it very difficult to finish everything, though I must say that we made a very brave attempt. I think my favourite was the eggplant coated in the famous walnut spread, though my husband (being Irish) couldn't stop eating the potatoes! Needless to say, more wonderful local red and white wine was included along with a bottle of chacha to finish up. Next stop were the wine tunnels at Khareba winery. Build under the mountains by the military during the late 1950s but now housing thousands of bottles of wine. More great sampling of wine plus bread and cheeses. Bidzina drove us about 300km throughout the beautiful countryside with several stops to allow the cows and sheep to cross the roads. He kept us entertained throughout the whole day with his amazing stories of the history of Georgia, and his incredible sense of humour kept us laughing all day. We would definitely recommend this wine tour to anybody who has any interest in wine and food and in getting a wonderful education of Georgia served up as well. All in all, we had the most wonderful day and were very sad to say goodbye to Bidzina.
