  For those who are first time in Tbilisi, this might not seem to be attractive place at all, though it is still worth of visiting, if you intend to buy fresh vegetables, fruits or nuts. Situated close to the central railway station Deserter's Bazar has its historical importance. It used to be a place where retired military servants would sell some goods in war time. In sowjet time this was the main place for fresh food trade. Today it still is believed the best place for the retail and whole trade sellers and residents of Tbilisi to buy fresh food. With development of supermarket chains the popularity of Bazaar of course has been decreased, but still one can find good choice of organic food at moderate price.
